David was born in 1965 and after leaving school has been the driving force behind several successful engineering and design businesses. As well as being widely recognised as possibly the finest designer of fountains and water features today, David is known for enjoying a challenge. David is very proud of his achievements helping others and especially raising money for charities. In 2015 David walked from Birmingham to London with a close friend, Desmond High, and raised over £20,000 for five excellent causes. David is a regular contributor to charities, either with his time or through personal donations. David’s main interests include music, sport, diving, mountaineering, the arts, historic motoring, making things, and nature and wildlife. When not travelling on business David will be found planning exotic and challenging journeys in the pursuit of thrills and discovery.
Ioana was born in 2000 and after leaving university and getting a degree in Architectural Technology, she joined David as a fountain designer. Like David, Ioana loves a challenge and tries to keep life out of the ordinary. She has a wide range of interests, loves painting, dancing, and exploring new forms of art whenever she has the chance. She has recently discovered a passion for baking and pottery. She is a gym and outdoor activity lover, and she loves exploring nature and wildlife with her tiny Westie which has become the “mascot” of her training with David. Ioana loves travelling and exploring the world in all its forms, which fits perfectly with her enthusiasm for extreme activities. The Toubkal Challenge is Ioana’s first foray into charitable fundraising, but it certainly won’t be her last.
