What’s the weather like?
January, February and March are the best months to do winter treks in the Atlas Mountains. January sees the lowest temperatures—average 6 °C throughout the month—but is still pleasant for hiking. You can look forward to trekking on snow on the higher paths with your crampons and ice axes at the ready to give you extra stability.
What is the hike like? How fit do I need to be?
This trek requires a fairly good level of fitness. You must be capable of hiking all day up paths of moderate difficulty. The walking is relatively straightforward, but the loose footing and high altitude will make the going quite difficult in parts. However, the views along the way make the journey more than worthwhile!
What is the food like on the trek?
Moroccan food has a unique blend of sweet and savory flavours. Local specialties include tajines (a stew cooked in an earthenware pot), couscous, and pastilles (flaky pastries stuffed with meat and dusted with cinnamon and sugar). Food is often spiced with cumin, tumeric and ginger. Meals on the trek are cooked by the Berber muleteers. The food is fresh and healthy.

What accomodation is there during the trek?
That will depend on season, itinerary and what the clients would like. We use tents, local houses and mountain refuges usually.
Can I change the trek? How can I do it?

A world apart from ages and time, the High Atlas remains the last universe of high mo, ntagne to discover in the Maghreb.
Slowly, for almost 3 weeks, this itinerary is a dive into this maze of valleys, peaks and mountains with strange and colorful reliefs. Sometimes desert of pink rocks, sometimes a verdant valley where the wheat waves to the rhythm of a fresh breeze, the High Atlas is of an extraordinary diversity. The perched villages, or hidden at the foot of a wadi, are tinged with the color of the surrounding land, and the impetuous torrents flow in the wild gorges.
Sources of clear water feed large plateaus where Berber shepherds nomadise during the summer.
And all around, the mountain is adorned with a symphony of colors and lights, creating an atmosphere where the stranger loses his bearings to better find himself …
Torn and gripping space reveals itself at every turn and every step during this long wandering. Never could the eye have imagined so much finesse and diversity in the same place.
From the nakedness of Djebel Anoghmer to the valley of the thousand kasbahs that close it, this journey was seen as a surprising discovery.
